Gate upgrade a welcome addition

The tragic death of a puppy that escaped from the Crosby Park dog off leash area at Queens Road Hamilton has resulted in the installation of new double entrance gates.

The unfortunate loss of the puppy prompted local dog owners to contact the Hamilton Ward Office requesting an urgent facility upgrade.

I've owned dogs all my life and although my condolences may be of little comfort to local residents, I understand their pain and distress having lost two pet dogs to traffic myself.

Funding for this work has come from the Hamilton Ward Parks Trust Fund, which can be used to undertake facility upgrades in our local parks.

Residents may have noticed the recent installation of fitness equipment in Ascot Park off Kitchener Road which was also delivered following a resident request, through the Hamilton Ward Parks Trust Fund, and new playground equipment and fencing in Oriel Park.
