Eagle Junction State School under fire

I am saddened by the news of the fire at the historic Eagle Junction State School last night.
Opened in 1895, Eagle Junction State School is the heart and soul of the local community who are now rallying to the cause of assisting school principal Jo Bottrell and her staff dealing with the aftermath.
The fire is now the subject of forensic investigations but Jo is optimistic the school will be repaired in time for the commencement of the 2012 school year.
The extent of the damage was thankfully limited due to the timely arrival of the fire brigade alerted by an observant neighbour. I encourage all residents who live close to our schools to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity within schools during the school holidays.
